The MG ZS EV is a stylish, compact SUV based on the popular Middle East seller, the MG ZS. Offered at AED 99,500 (excluding VAT), it’s perfect for UAE customers who have not previously experienced the joys of owning a new energy vehicle.
The MG ZS has two variants. MG ZS 1.5L LUX and MG ZS 1.3T LUX.
The MG ZS is handsome in all its color choices, with the Meteorite Black edition shining particularly bright. It may look good thanks to its exterior decorations and powerful engine, but it’s an excellent suspension system and stellar brake capabilities that make it a real standout.
MG ZS Features and Interior
The interior of the vehicle is as nicely appointed as the exterior. In the driver’s seat, one finds a stitched dashboard and chrome-ringed air vents at both corners.
The left end of the dash starts with a spinning wheel that has buttons for system controls. To the display’s right is an infotainment display. Below that sits the driver’s information console, which includes dials for personal adjustments and gear level indicators.
In addition, the infotainment system employs Apple CarPlay. The seats are upholstered in leather; the cabin is well-made. The seats are larger than average, and there is ample headroom and legroom for the driver and the passengers.
MG ZS Exterior
The car’s exterior features a large honeycomb metal grille housing the brand’s logo and outlined in thick chrome. The car has LED headlights with split ring-shaped daytime running lights (DRL) surrounded by a big opening in the grille. Then there is another opening to the bumper followed by some foglights.
On the side, it has thick bezels and a narrow silver line running all along from the front to the rear door. Chrome finishing can also be found on the roof rails.
Riding on its back, the four-wheeler has LED taillights. Bright light strips illuminate the back end of this rugged vehicle and a large bumper is followed by an exhaust outlet.
MG ZS Fuel Consumption
The new naturally aspirated 1.5-litre four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine in the car belts out 114 PS of power at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 150 Nm at 4,000 rpm.
The engine, either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, and the drive are connected to the front wheels of the vehicle. When switched to sports mode, the torque converter clutch is unlocked, allowing for higher RPMs.

The MG ZS deserves all the praise it gets for its stunning looks and its generous spread of features. It also doesn’t stint on comfort, with a decent amount of space inside and excellent build quality.
Also, the equipment levels are good, with a respectable steering wheel, plenty of padding throughout, and ample headroom. Its price is pretty decent when you consider its rivals too, making the MG ZS a sound choice in its class.
